Events of Note in the D.C. Area

The Capital Cabal announces a new event series in partnership with Ipsos Public Affairs, titled Face the Facts: Energy Agenda Now .  This is an executive breakfast event, and will be held on September 28th at the City Club of Washington at Columbia Square.  This event is the first installment of the Face the Facts series, where Ipsos conducts exclusive public opinion research of voters and the general population addressing a variety of energy related topics.  The polling data will be presented for the first time at this event, and we have assembled an impressive list of "Pundits" who will discuss the results and their implications.  Registration is now open!   Thanks to our sponsors OPOWER, Verdant Power and Pivotal IT for their support of this event.

The Advertising Club of Metropolitan Washington  again plays host to Advertising Week DC , now in its seventh year.  The slate of excellent events celebrates the best of the advertising, marketing and media community during a week dedicated to networking, professional development and education.  The events run September 20-24 here in Washington, DC.  Register today , an be sure to attend the hyper-cool Domestic Premiere of the the winners of the 2010 Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival

Colin Delaney and his ePolitics gang are going to try again for an end-of-summer networking gig at the Reef in Adams Morgan, Thursday September 2nd.  All the details are on the Facebook  page, and we hope to see you there.

And just because it has nothing at all to do with business, we need to help spread the word regarding Dancing by the Bayou.  This is a two-day Cajun and Zydeco dance festival, being held October 16th and 17th at Glen Echo and featuring a hugely impressive band lineup.  If you like Swamp Romp at Wolf Trap then you'll love this event - check it out!

The Advertising Club of Washington is taking me (us) out to the ballgame  on September 7th, as our hometown Nationals play semi-gracious host to the New York Mets.  The prices are reasonable and the beer/lemonade will be cold - see you there!

Of course, D.C.'s regular monthly networking salon and cocktail party, 2nd Tuesday , is going strong. Mark your calendar for our next Summer Jobs event on August 10th.
